Reenie Barrow’s neighborhood views depict the domestic architecture of southern California. They describe their subject with a formal clarity that is invested in a sense of objectivity, cataloging her subject akin to the photographers of the New Topographics. Her photographs reveal the symmetry of the front yard landscape ordered against the structure of the anonymous home. Each picture reveals subtle details of place and the uniqueness of her subject within a larger and diverse catalog.
Her photographs have been exhibited in both solo and group exhibitions since the late 1970’s. Included venues: Bristol Art Museum, Bell Gallery at Brown University, San Diego Art Institute and International Center for Photography.
Her photographs are in numerous public, corporate and private collections including: Fidelity Investments, Reader’s Digest, IBM, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston and the National Photography Museum of Greece.
